Welcome to Newcomb High School!
Ya'at'teeh, Welcome
Ya'at'eeh! Greetings, Skyhawk Family! As we launch into this academic year, I want to express my genuine excitement for the journey ahead. This year marks the beginning of my second year as Principal of Newcomb High School, and I am happier than ever to be leading this incredible community of learners, educators, and families. The spirit and resilience you all demonstrated last year are the foundation upon which we will build even greater success in the coming months. We will be focused on making learning fun and engaging by providing diverse and exciting educational experiences.
Our focus this year will be on strengthening the partnerships between home, school, and the community to ensure every student reaches their full potential. A key priority is tackling chronic absenteeism head-on; we are committed to striving for 90% and above school attendance for all students because consistent presence in the classroom is the first step toward achievement. We are also dedicated to helping every student do well on state assessments, ensuring they are ready for their next steps after graduation. Newcomb High is not just a place of learning; it is a family, and your involvement is essential to our collective success. I encourage all parents and guardians to stay engaged, attend school events, and communicate openly with our dedicated staff. Together, we will create an environment where every student feels supported, challenged, and ready to soar.
To our students: I believe in you, and I am thrilled to see what you will achieve. Beyond the classroom, I strongly encourage you to explore your passions through involvement with school clubs and sports. These activities offer valuable opportunities to build friendships, develop leadership skills, and create a strong sense of belonging within the Skyhawk Family. Let’s make this year one of extraordinary growth, discovery, and memorable moments. I am proud to be your principal, and I look forward to greeting you on campus and working side-by-side with our amazing community throughout this exciting year! Go Skyhawks!
Ahehee'.
Sincerely, Dr. Carena White, Ed.D.
